Ready To Preach

Tonight we try and pick up where we left off as we were discussing our leadership conference called The Huddle. Last week we covered church commitment. This week we go over church discipline and forgiveness.

Tonight's episode starts with us getting all caught up after our brief break from the studio while also starting to get into the Men's Conference from a few weeks ago as well as the inaugural The Huddle Leadership Conference that we hosted this past Saturday at our Bangor campus. There will be more about this as we were only just starting to touch on the segment about the importance of church commitment presented by Pastor John.

Thank you for joining us tonight. Tonight's topic centers around imitation, distraction and discernment. We discuss the differences between these and try to provide some good steps to help ensure that we stick along the correct path. The path that leads us closer to God.

Tonight we finish the first chapter of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. Read along with us as we look into the division that was starting to come to the surface in the Corinthian church. And read along as we go over the things that Paul felt were important steps for the church to stay united and to stay beneficial for everyone that came through its doors. Read and listen to what Paul knew would help them but will also help us.

Tonight we ask that you follow along with us on our journey through Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. Read along with us and see what sticks out to you as well. Is there something that maybe you've read over before but feel like maybe you skipped past? One thing to keep in mind is that you can never read the same Bible verse twice. Each time you read it, you'll find yourself asking different questions or maybe even just noticing different things.

Tonight's topic centers around our attitude and behavior toward others. The scripture for tonight is from Matthew 22:34-40 which we have included for you to read before listening in tonight.

³⁴ But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

³⁵ Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

³⁶ Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

³⁷ Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

³⁸ This is the first and great commandment.

³⁹ And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
